Activities of APIMONDIA Activities of APIMONDIAByAsger Søgaard Jørgensen, Apimondia President.www.apimondia.orge-mail: asj@biavl.dkAbstract APIMONDIA exists to promote scientific, technical, ecological, social and economic apicultural development in all countries and the cooperation of beekeepers´ associations, scientific bodies and of individuals involved in apiculture worldwide. It also aims to put into practice every initiative the can contribute to improving apiculture practice and to rendering the obtained products profitable. These are the objectives from the statutes of Apimondia.Our aim is to achieve the objectives by organising congresses, conferences. It is important for us to bring scientists and beekeepers together to facilitate exchange of information and discussions,but also to make contacts and friendships across borders.  In my presentation I will focus on the most important problem for beekeepers worldwide as well as societies.We are facing a pollinator crisis due to decreasing numbers of pollinators.A huge problem is the massive losses of honeybee colonies in many countries. Apimondia have organised meetings and discussions where scientists and beekeepers exchange knowledge and experiences to find the casual agents and solve the problems. Apimondia is involved in the large COLOSS network.  I will give a brief description of Apimondia, the organisation and it´s activities, as well as present you some slight ideas about “why participate in Apimondia and it´s congresses. The next Apimondia congress is organised in Montpellier, France 15 – 20 September 2009.Beekeepers, scientists, honeytraders, producers of equipment will meet for the great event with a huge “Apiexpo  Devamı...
